Welcome! If you are a regular visitor/reader of my blog you may have already read a post from me introducing CUSO International and asking you to donate to this great organization.

Blog Crash

Posted by James William on Saturday, March 3, 2012,

Good afternoon everyone,

This is just a small note to let you know that after my last post there was a major site crash and I lost a lot of the functionality of my blog because of this I've had to re-create the page and the uploads.

Any posts previous to this can be found here - but you must go through each post individually to read through them.

Yola is working on fixing the bug but fixing the bug won't bring back the functionality of my current blog.

Enjoy the re-posted information,

William

Office set-up

Posted by James William on Saturday, March 3, 2012,

Happy Monday everyone,

As last week was winding down and I was preparing to leave the office on Friday I decided to take a couple of photos of my office space to share with you.

Currently I am set up in the Rwandan Education Board’s Video Edit Suite as I prepare for training the IT staff in the coming weeks and I must admit the space is wonderful to work in. I will be making some changes in the coming week as I prepare for the workshops/training but the layout will stay pretty much the ...

Life in Rwanda - First Impressions

Posted by James William on Saturday, March 3, 2012,

It’s been exactly 1 month since I arrived in Kigali. It’s been a month that included lost (and then found!) baggage, 2 weeks of intensive language training as well as other cultural training with VSO Rwanda staff and volunteers, moving into a lovely (but completely empty!) new house and my first 2 weeks in a new position with a new organization.

Each of these things – from buying all the supplies necessary to set-up our house, to practicing bargaining in a new language to learning the r...

An overdue update

The position was a six week specialized placement in Cambodia over the course of October and November. My objective was to develop communications ma...

Posted by James William on Saturday, March 3, 2012,
As promised in an earlier post I have uploaded two new videos to the Cape Town, SA page of my video portfolio.

The videos are representative of work that produced with The Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation Emavundleni Clinic's ADAPT study and The University of Cape Town's Child Health Unit.

Working with project leaders at the ADAPT study in Emavundleni I produced a video that addressed participants concerns regarding their regular clinical visits and processes used in the study. The study aims to f...
